Charitable donation!Jessica Simpson has donated a minivan she won at the MTV Video Music Awards last year to an orphanage in Mexico. The 26-year-old won a Chrysler Crossfire sports car at the show and asked the car company if she could exchange it for a minivan for the Casa Hogar Elim orphanage in Nuevo Laredo. Mama Lupita, who runs the orphanage, has previously been without transportation. A source told People magazine, “Last week, someone asked Mama Lupita if she could use a van at the orphanage. Mama Lupita said, ‘We have no transportation at all. Of course we could use it.’ So then she was told that she was getting a brand new eight-passenger van from Jessica Simpson for the orphanage.” As can be imagined, Mama Lupita got a little bit teary-eyed when she heard the news. The insider relayed, “She started to cry for three minutes straight and then said, ‘I can’t wait to give Jessica a big hug.’” This is not the first charitable endeavor for Jessica, as she has previously has spoken in Washington about disadvantaged children and been to Africa. But, for some reason, the orphanage in Mexico has a special place in Simpson’s heart. The source said, “The orphanage means so much to her. She wants to help Mama Lupita and everyone in the orphanage.” Along with the minivan, the singer will also be giving the establishment some much needed funds. The money is reportedly coming from the sexy red dress that Simpson was sporting in her Pizza Hut Super Bowl commercial. Jessica has decided to auction it off and donate the money. The source revealed, “She’s selling the dress on eBay. Proceeds from the dress will also go to help Casa Hogar.”
